Besides
this , the Institute also received a direct funding
of Rs. 20.98 lakhs during 1999-2000 , from the Ministry
of Non-Conventional Energy Resources , Biomass Division,
Government of India, New Delhi for the project entitled
" Survey and evaluation
of selected species for energy plantation in north
east India. The Institute is also involved
in implementation of the project " Resource
enhancement and processing of Cane and Bamboo species
suitable for Handicrafts " This project
is sponsored by Ministry of Textiles , Government
of India under "Fibre and Handicrafts Development
Programme " of the UNDP. The estimated cost of this
project is Rs. 37.44 lakhs. |
