To study the structure and functioning of the fragile forest ecosystems of the region.
To study and evaluate the biological diversity of different forest ecosystems.
To study development of vegetation in perpetuity in the preservation plots.

RFRI/EP/04: Ecological studies on Dipterocarp forest of Gibbon Wild life Sanctuary of Assam.
RFRI/EP/06: Assessment of biological diversity of various ecosystems and to establish methods for conservation in the Kaziranga National Park of Assam.
RFRI/EP/09: Improvement of infrastructural facilities in botanical garden/centres of ex-situ conservation at Deovan,RFRI, Jorhat, Assam..
RFRI/EE/07: The Potential role of bamboos species with reference to carbon sequestration in Assam and Mizoram.

CONCLUDED PROJECTS

RFRI/EE/01: Ecological monitoring of biological diversity and the strategy of conserving thereof in Kazaringa National Park of Assam.
RFRI/EE/02: Evaluation of current status of Tropical Moist Forest for their sustainable utilization with special reference to Dipterocarps.
