Role of Participant 1 - Forest
Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun, India (FRI - IN)
FRI will serve as lead
co-coordinating partner for the Activity Groups - 1, 3 & 6 involving ´
Building infrastructure base, Development of methodology for assessment and
quantification of ecosystem services, and `Comparative studies on Community
Participation`. It will also be the contributing partner for the other
Activity Groups 2, 4, 5, 7, & 8 by collecting data and conducting
studies in India.
Role of Participant 2 - Waldbau
Institute, Freiburg University, Germany (WIF- GE)
WIF will serve as lead
co-coordinating partner for the Activity Group - 4, 7, & 8 involving
`Comparative studies on silvicultural strategies in maximizing ecosystem
services´, ´development of educational courses` and ´Synthesis of project
results and dissemination of knowledge´. It will also be the contributing
partner for the other Activity Groups 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 by co-development of
methodology, collecting data and conducting studies in Germany.
Role of Participant 3 - Alterra,
Wageningen, Netherlands (ALT- NE)
Alterra will serve as lead
co-coordinating partner for the Activity Groups 2 & 5 involving ´Conduct of
Trainings, Workshops´ and ´Comparative studies at landscape level to optimize
services`. It will also be the contributing partner for the other Activity
Groups 1, 3, 4, 7, & 8 by collecting data and conducting studies in
Netherlands.
